Despite the threat to its future, due to disgracefully inadequate Arts Council funding, as reported in this paper on April 14th, Ballet Ireland (right) has just embarked on its most extensive tour to date. This talented young and beautifully-costumed young company improves at each viewing and more than deserves its constantly-increasing audiences. Now it brings its Extravaganza 2000: Millennium Fire- works to Dublin's National Concert Hall for three days before setting out for Letterkenny, Kilmallock and the remainder of the 16 Irish and 18 English, Scottish and Welsh venues. Ballets to music by Schubert, Grieg, Rossini and Mahler feature.
