A six-year-old boy who suffered burns after he pulled a kettle of boiling water down on himself will receive £140,000 after successfully suing Fermoy Urban District Council, the owners of the house in which he lived.
Sean Hegarty, of St Mary's Terrace, Fermoy, was two years old when the accident happened. Announcing the settlement in the High Court in Cork yesterday, Mr Jim O'Leary SC said the boy suffered severe burns to his shoulder and arm.
