Hefei, China - The French Prime Minister, Mr Lionel Jospin, passed on a message from the Dalai Lama to the Chinese President, Mr Jiang Zemin, at their meeting yesterday.
Mr Jiang reaffirmed China's willingness to have a dialogue with the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader, but said there was "nothing new" in the Dalai Lama's latest proposals, a French official source said.
