The making of or trading in pornographic photographs, images or literature relating to children would be made an offence under a Fianna Fail Bill which is to be debated in private members' time in the Dail. The party's justice spokesman, Mr John O'Donoghue, said the Bill would present the Dail with the opportunity of criminalising the possession of child pornography.
Abusers used it to seduce children. "Its very possession can, and ultimately does, in many cases lead to the abuse of another child," he said. The Bill would give extensive powers to the authorities to seize offensive material.
