Czechs hopeful of joining NATO

PRAGUE - The Czech Republic might be invited this summer to join NATO, President Vaclav Havel said yesterday. "Everything suggests that certain countries... including "the Czech Republic... might be directly invited at the summer summit in Madrid, and the process of admitting new NATO members would thus be launched," he said in a radio speech.
