Nicosia - Cyprus would support moves to create a no-fly zone over the divided island and would view it as a first step towards demilitarisation, a spokesman said yesterday. The US said on Wednesday Washington would be willing to explore the possible creation of such a zone as a way to head off Greek Cypriot plans to deploy Russian surface-to-air missiles.
