Nicosia - Cyprus's chief negotiator in European Union membership talks, Mr George Vassiliou, underwent an operation yesterday for the removal of a benign brain tumour, Michael Jansen reports. Following surgery at the National Hospital of Neurology and Neuro-surgery, London, Mr Vassiliou was reported to be well and able to speak to his family.
