Customs officers seized the cocaine worth an estimated €70,000 after it arrived in a freight consignment from Canada.

The drugs were concealed in a "Dora the Explorer" toy house which was being imported through cargo.

Officers said they believed the cocaine was destined for a Dublin based gang.

Yesterday a 24-year-old man was arrested after customs seized 5.5kgs of cannabis after he arrived on a flight from Alicante.

The drugs worth €66,000 were found in the his baggage.

The man was remanded in custody this morning after appearing before the Dublin District Court.
