Customs make cash seizures at Dublin airport

The Revenue Commissioners revealed today that Customs officers seized almost €107,000 at Dublin airport last Friday.

The cash was discovered in the baggage of a 33 year-old Dutch man who was about to depart on a flight to Amsterdam on Friday evening.

On Saturday, officers were granted a three-month detention order in the Dublin District Court to carry out further investigations.

The seizure, made under the Proceeds of Crime Act, comes after €187,000 in cash was found last Thursday.

It brings the total cash seized by Customs at Dublin airport in 2008 to €2.6million.
