The executive producer of this year's Eurovision Song Contest, Mr Noel Curran, has been appointed Editor, Current Affairs, at RTE. He succeeds Mr Peter Feeney, who had already been appointed head of Millennium and special programmes.

Mr Curran joined RTE in 1992 as a senior reporter in current affairs and worked for Marketplace, Prime Time and Tuesday File. He has previously worked at a print journalist and joined RTE from Business and Finance magazine.

He is a native of Reaghstown, Co Louth, and studied at Trinity College Dublin.
