A youth who was charged with vandalising a fire engine in Dublin on Wednesday night has been ordered to obey a nightly curfew.

The boy (15) was charged at the Children’s Court with possessing a knife, criminal damage of tyres on a fire engine, and theft of a tool box worth €250 in Ballymun.

The teenager was accompanied to court by his social worker and a relative.

Judge Aingeal Ní Chonduin heard he lived with his mother but may be taken into foster care by relatives.

He was granted bail until November 26th.
