THE controversial Canadian film, Crash, is set to have its first Irish screening during the ACC Bank 12th Dublin Film Festival next month. The film will be a shown at a morning screening on March 8th or March 9th. The film censor, Mr Sheamus Smith, who viewed the film this week, has yet to decide whether Crash will be released.
Directed by David Cronenberg, Crash is based on the novel of the same name by J.G. Ballard. The coldest and most clinical film to date from Cronenberg, Crash reiterates the recurring theme in Cronenberg's work that the human race remains primitive despite all technological advances of this century.
