Garda appeal after woman (19) seriously assaulted on Thomas Street

Incident took place in Dublin early on Saturday and gardaí seek information

Gardaí are investigating a serious assault on a woman (19) in Dublin city centre at the weekend.

The woman was assaulted at a premises off Thomas Street, Dublin 8 in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Gardaí arrested a man in relation the incident and are preparing a file for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Gardaí want to speak to any taxi driver who may have picked up a man and woman outside the Olympia Theatre on Dame Street between 2.15am and 2.50am on Saturday and brought them to the Thomas Street area.

Gardaí also want to speak to a taxi driver who collected the woman at the corner of Thomas Street/Bridgefoot Street between 3.15am and 3.20am. The taxi driver brought her to Dame street. They also wish to speak to a taxi driver who picked up a lone male in the same area at about the same time.
