Solicitors for the Elderly Ireland, a body aimed at highlighting the right of elderly or vulnerable people to specialist legal knowledge, was launched last Thursday to provide a forum and further education for lawyers practising in this area.
The independent national association will seek to establish relationships with key bodies to ensure the protection of the elderly and vulnerable.
A similar organisation has been in existence in the UK for many years.
