BOURGES - A worker in a French porcelain factory won 58,000 francs (£7,692) from her employer yesterday after she was fired for smoking on the premises.

The employment tribunal found Porcelaines Philippe Deshoulieres in the central village of Vierzon had wrongly-dismissed Ms Christine Tan-guy (38), last year because "the fault did not come from negligence, bad work conduct, a violation of security."
