The owner of an apartment complex in Monaghan has been restrained by the High Court from interfering with the work of two receivers appointed by Anglo Irish Bank over the property.

Kieran McGuigan claims the receivers were invalidly appointed and are working for “a toxic bank currently under investigation for criminal and fraudulent activity”. He has denied making threats against the receivers or that he was behind an e-mail featuring a photo of Glen Cran with a superimposed Nazi uniform.

Mr Cran and Mark Reynolds of Savills Commercial Ireland, joint receivers of the complex of eight apartments at 8/9 The Diamond, had brought proceedings after Mr McGuigan changed locks on the apartments and circulated material to tenants alleging the receivership was a “scam”.
