Berlin - A German court last night postponed a decision on whether to declare last year's election in the southern German state of Hesse invalid, Denis Staunton writes.

Social Democrats have called for the election to be declared void because the Christian Democrats, who won the vote, have admitted using illegal campaign funds. The court will reconvene on March 3rd.
