A player for Portadown football club, Mr Gary Peebles, was freed on bail yesterday by the High Court in Belfast but banned from playing in next month's game between the club and Glenavon.

Mr Peebles (30), from Paisley, Scotland, was remanded in custody on Monday on a charge of grievous bodily harm following an incident during a game against Glenavon last month in which an opponent's jaw was broken.
