Court acquits 3 in suicide case

JAIPUR - An Indian court has acquitted three people charged with abetting the suicide of a woman who climbed on to her husband's funeral pyre. Villagers from Deorala - swore that Roop Kanwar (19), had sat calmly holding her dead husband's head on her lap and chanting prayers as flames consumed her. The family of Mal Singh, her dead husband, was accused of abetting the act of suttee.
