An American couple are offering £2 million for a historic Irish castle dating from between the 12th and 17th centuries with potential as a hotel. But it must be on private grounds beside a lake or grounds with a river running through it.
Castlebar Auctioneer, Mr Thomas Collins, has details of the offer from the anonymous Los Angeles couple who he says are well respected in the medical profession. Some castles have already been viewed by the prospective purchasers but they did not meet the requirements.
