Counterfeit goods with a street value of up to £10,000 were seized in a joint operation by gardai and officers from the Irish National Federation Against Copyright Theft at a market in Glenties, Co Donegal, yesterday.

A Garda spokesman said the operation recovered more than 500 Playstation games and about 30 music CDs from a number of market stalls.

It is understood that the stall owners were from the west and had travelled to Glenties on Tuesday. Although the games and CDs were said to be of good quality, the covers and inlay cards were poorly reproduced.
