LONDON - The controversial "sex and wrecks" film Crash was banned from Westminster yesterday - at least for now - despite pleas from 50 leading film makers.

Councillors on the licensing sub committee insisted David Cronenberg's film would have to be cut if it is to be shown in Westminster, which covers many of the West End's leading cinemas.
