A Co Tipperary councillor is threatening to go on hunger strike to highlight the need for major local schemes which are holding up development in his town.

Mr Jimmy Moran, a Fianna Fail member of Nenagh UDC, says he is contemplating this step following repeated refusals for funding of the town's main drainage scheme and second phase of the sewerage scheme.
