Councillor calls for death penalty

A leading North Tipperary "anti abortion activist has called" for the reintroduction of capital punishment. Councillor Jimmy Moran of Nenagh urged the return of the death penalty in view of the current spate of serious crime. "Murder is murder and those who take lives must be hanged. The ultimate deterrent must be shown."
