Rickshaws in Cork city are facing new bylaws to regulate price, public liability insurance and areas of operation.

City manager Tim Lucey has announced plans to introduce rickshaw cycle bylaws as the service grows in popularity.

Council officials are to consult the Department of Transport for its official view on the unregulated rickshaw service. Mr Lucey said there was no legislation on the use of rickshaws.
