Hour long delays were predicted as the Lower Glanmire Road remained closed.

The Quay Wall collapsed between the Skew Bridge and Water Street junction yesterday. Gardai were on point duty and diversions remain in place.

AA Roadwatch said drivers should give themselves extra time to reach their destinations.

Gardaí have advised motorists to divert through the Jack Lynch Tunnel or the North or South Ring Roads.
