Gardai in Cork have launched an investigation into the alleged sexual assault of a teenage girl over the weekend.
The incident is reported to have taken place in the West Cork town of Clonakilty in the early hours of Sunday morning shortly after the teenager left a local nightclub.
The alleged victim, who is in her late teens, claims she was assaulted as she was walking in the Long Quay area of the town around 2am.
Gardai yesterday issued an appeal to anyone with information to contact them on 023 33202.
