Melbourne - A controversial art photograph showing a Christian crucifix in a vat of bubbling urine in a Melbourne gallery was "extensively damaged" yesterday in the second attack in two days, police said.

A security guard at the gallery was injured in the attack by a hammer-wielding youth on the photograph. Police are holding two teenagers following the incident.
