A controlled explosion has been carried out on a vehicle parked outside a mosque in Glasgow.

A controlled explosion has been carried out on a vehicle parked outside a mosque in Glasgow.

Police and bomb disposal experts were called to Forth Street Mosque early this morning. By 5am the Explosives Ordnance Disposal had carried out a controlled explosion on the vehicle.

Police said it will now be taken away for detailed forensic examination.

Eight people, including three doctors and one woman, are in custody after terrorists attacks on Glasgow airport and in London City.

The latest man to be arrested is a doctor working in Australia who was arrested after being stopped in Brisbane airport.

Meanwhile, London police carried out a controlled explosion on suspicious device in the Hammersmith area of west London this morning and investigated a suspicious vehicle in the city's financial district. Both security alerts were subsequently lifted.
