Porto - A Swedish consortium has been awarded the contract to build a metro system in Porto, Portugal's second city, officials announced yesterday.The construction of the system, which will be 70 kms long, will cost an estimated $757 million. The state is expected to contribute $356 million for the project, with the remaining funds coming from within the EU and a loan from the European Investment Bank.
