Budapest - Hungarian Prime Minister Mr Viktor Orban's government has disassociated itself from a plan which proposed supplying gypsies with free contraceptives in an attempt to reduce their numbers.

Mr Orban's office yesterday launched an investigation into Deputy State Secretary Mr Peter Szegvari, who signed the plan.
