Break for the border:A growing number of shoppers from the Republic, tired of waiting for retailers to pass on the beneficial effects of a strong euro, have once again taken to crossing the border in search of bargains.

Retailers in Newry and Derry report record numbers of shoppers from the South, and estimate that at least 30 per cent of their daily trade is in now in euro - late last week a euro would get you 80p.
