War encore:It's hard not to be delighted by the price wars preoccupying the minds of all our supermarkets. Aldi has joined the battle with reductions on over one-quarter of its range. While Tesco cut prices at just 11 of its 116 stores, it has promised to roll out the price reductions across the State in the near future. Lidl and SuperValu have also announced price cuts while Dunnes Stores and Superquinn have advertised a limited number of reductions, although more are expected.
