The Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources Pat Rabbitte is to grant a prospecting licence for gold and silver to a Dublin firm for large tracts of land in east Clare. Objectors have 21 days in which to make their case.

Conroy Gold and Natural Resources, Upper Pembroke Street, Dublin, will be granted permission to prospect for gold, silver and other base metals in almost 90 townlands from Killaloe to near the village of Broadford.
