The Association of Chief Superintendents will hold a conference entitled "Criminal Justice: a question of balance?" in Malahide, Co Dublin, on October 3rd. It will be opened by the Minister for Justice, Mrs Owen.

Other speakers include: the new Garda Commissioner, Mr Pat Byrne; Chief Supt Tom Monaghan, chairman of the association; Ms Jennifer Guinness, chairwoman of the Irish Association for Victim Support; Mr Barry Galvin, legal director to the new Criminal Assets Bureau; Mr Jim Quigley, president of Muintir na Tire; Mr Adrian Hardiman, barrister; and Prof Brian Nolan and Dr Tony Fahey, of the Economic and Social Research Institute.

The fee for the one day conference is £95.
