A three-day conference on "The Civil War 1922-1923" was formally opened yesterday at Cathal Brugha Barracks in Rathmines, Dublin.
Organised jointly by the Military History Society of Ireland and the Military Archives, the conference will discuss such topics as women and the Civil War; pro and anti-Treaty perspectives; and the participation of first World War veterans.
Among the speakers are Prof Joe Lee of UCC and author Tim Pat Coogan.
