Conduit has reduced its workforce at its Dublin headquarters by 25 people, a company spokesman confirmed today.

Conduit has reduced its workforce at its Dublin headquarters by 25 people, a company spokesman confirmed today.

The directory inquiries firm now employs about 600 people in Dublin. The job cuts are confirmed days after a meeting at which management outlined difficulties facing the company.

The spokesman said: "As far as I am aware, there are no further job cuts planned". He said the redundancies had come from all areas of head office operations.

Last year Conduit joined 15 companies competing for a slice of the British directories market. It has spent about £19 million sterling (€27.3 million) an a bid to secure a share of the £300 million annual market.
