The Competition Authority has cleared Tetra Laval's acquistion of assets owned by Carlisle Process Systems following a full investigation.

The authority has concluded the deal would not substantially lessen competition in food processing.

The body conducted a full investigation, known as a Phase 2 investigation, after an initial screening raised some competition issues.

Both companies supply food processing equipment - most notably to the cheese processing industry in Ireland.

Tetra Laval is a privately owned group of companies active in several industries while Carlisle Process Systems is part of Carlisle Companies and is listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
