A company accused by an accountant of losing him £1,200 in the Eircom share issue because of a mix-up over dates of birth yesterday blamed the Telecom Eireann share information office.

Mr Noel Morrissey, of Skerries, Co Dublin, claims Computershare Services Ireland Ltd, of Sandyford Industrial Estate, was negligent in handling his application, causing a delay which meant he could not resell the shares shortly after they were issued. He is suing the company in the Small Claims Court, where Judge Joseph Mangan will give his decision tomorrow.
