The Department of Education is considering setting up a network of outreach centres which will enable third-level colleges to offer tuition away from their main campuses.

A spokesman said the Department would begin consulting the education partners next month on how such centres might operate. It is not clear what courses would be provided, but the idea is that some students could receive tuition there rather than at campuses farther away.
