LONDON - A ban on the shooting of some wild birds was announced in Britain yesterday because the cold weather was threatening their survival. The temporary ban, starting today, covers ducks, geese and shore waders which cannot feed because of frozen conditions. It will run until January 24th, at least, and will not be lifted until there has been at least seven days without frost.
