TWO defendants in a cocaine trial in Cork Circuit Criminal Court were acquitted of charges relating to the discovery of £47 million worth of cocaine on board a converted trawler, the Sea Mist, at Cobh last September.

Judge A.G. Murphy yesterday directed the jury to bring in verdicts of not guilty in respect of Mr Howard Graham Miller (47), Old Fisherbeck, Ambleside, Cumbria, England, and Mr James Noel (51), from St Lucia, in Trinidad, on charges of being in possession of cocaine on September 29th last at Cobh with intent to supply or sell to others and with illegal importation of the drug into Ireland.
