ANKARA - Mr Mesut Yilmaz, leader of the conservative Motherland Party (ANAP), said yesterday he planned to form a coalition government with Turkey's care taker Prime Minister, Ms Tansu Ciller, by the weekend.

"I am planning to complete a coalition protocol with the True Path Party (DYP) by the weekend ... and present a cabinet list to the President," Mr Yilmaz said, after briefing President Suleyman Demirel.

Ms filler and Mr Yilmaz are due to meet for talks tomorrow.
