The death of a Polish man whose body was discovered slumped on a footpath in north Co Dublin was not suspicious, gardaí have confirmed.

The man, who was in his mid 50s, was found at the Main Street and Skerries Road junction in Rush, north Co Dublin, at 4am.

Eye witnesses said attempts by passers-by to resuscitate the Polish national failed and he was taken to Beaumont Hospital were he was confirmed dead.

A garda spokesman said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man's sudden dead.

A post mortem is due to be carried out to determine an exact cause of death.
