A group advising on matters relating to Creutzfeldt Jakob Disease (CJD) has been established by the Minister for Health, Mr Noonan. It will advise the Minister on the surveillance of CJD in Ireland and on public health considerations arising from scientific developments concerning the disease.

The group is headed by Prof William Hall of the virus reference laboratory at University College, Dublin.
