Close to 10,000 cigarettes with an estimated retail value of €4,200 were seized by Revenue's Customs Services at Dublin airport yesterday.

A 29-year-old Moldovan national has been remanded in custody to appear before Cloverhill Distric Court next Thursday after he was stopped and searched by customs official following his arrival from Moscow.

The 'Bond' brand cigarettes were discovered in a suitcase.

The 29-year-old was arrested and appeared before Judge Denis McLoughlin in Dublin District Court, this morning.
