Contraband cigarettes worth over €160,000 have been seized by customs officers at Dublin airport.

Contraband cigarettes worth over €160,000 have been seized by customs officers at Dublin airport.

The seizures were made between Friday March 25th and Sunday April 3rd.

Approximately 370,000 cigarettes and a quantity of roll-your-own tobacco was seized during the operation.

The cigarettes, with a potential loss to the exchequer of €125,500, included Silk Cut, Marboro and L&M brands.

Officers also seized a quantity of wine and spirits and several vehicles during the searches.
