Thieves who ramraided two garages in Waterford early yesterday morning escaped with a substantial quantity of cigarettes, according to local gardai. The raiders, who were driving a stolen Nissan Bluebird, rammed the shutters of Walsh's garage in Ferrybank at about 3.20 a.m. and then robbed the nearby Statoil garage in the same manner. The car was later found abandoned in Carrick on Suir.
