A NEW journalism award in memory of Irish Times journalist Christina Murphy, Duty Editor and "Education and Living" editor, has been announced by the National Council for Educational Awards.
The annual National Christina Murphy Memorial Prize will be given to the most outstanding student in journalism and communication in designated colleges.
NCEA council member Mr Tony Deffely announced the award last night at the conferring ceremony in the Galway RTC's Castlebar campus, attended by Ms Murphy's parents and family.
