Five men, two of them Christian Brothers and three of whom have since left the order, were remanded on continuing bail at Galway District Court yesterday on charges of indecently assaulting young boys in their care between 1958 and 1976 at Lower Salthill Galway.

A total of 76 charges were proferred against the five men, one of whom is at present is in hospital due to illness.

Insp Martin Lee asked for the matter to be adjourned to Wednesday November 12th to allow time for the book of evidence to be completed.

Judge John Garavan granted the adjournment and extended time for service of the book of evidence.
